Epoch Realms is a solo project. There's no studio, no publisher, no committee — just me, building this in the hours after my day job and on weekends.
I grew up an avid gamer. Some of my best childhood memories are tied up in the kingdoms I built, the battles I planned late at night, and the friends I made grinding through games that didn't care about your time — they just wanted to give you a great world to lose yourself in.
As an adult, I watched a lot of that drift away. Genres I loved got flattened into engagement loops. Depth got traded for daily rewards. Strategy got replaced by whichever wallet was thickest. I don't think that's a step forward — I think it's a step sideways, dressed up in better graphics.
So I'm building the game I actually want to play: a dark-fantasy kingdom strategy game with real depth, real consequences, and the kind of slow-burn satisfaction that made the originals so addictive. Same bones as the games we grew up with — kingdom building, army management, alliances, world rankings — but sharper, fairer, and built with everything I've learned since.
It's just me right now, which means progress is honest but not always fast. I'm doing the design, the code, and the world-building myself, one system at a time, and I'm not shipping it until it feels right.
If that sounds like your kind of game, I'd love to have you along for the ride.
